Around town- Saturday afternoon

Kitty expected things to get quiet over the next week or so, so she made a point of getting everything printed up early so she could post flyers around town before then. She loved this party, people needed to know that they should attend.

Even if she had a group of caroling snowmen following her. You know what

NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY
@ Caritas
@ Wednesday, December 31

Come ring in the new year with friends and drinks and considerably less glitter than previous years!

Dressing up is encouraged but not mandatory!

And honestly she was sort of impressed that the snowmen knew "jingle bells, Ratman smells."

Fandom Radio, Saturday, December 20

No, you see--yes, it is Saturday, but I did this yesterday, and so I thought I might be allowed to sleep in today...ah, well. No rest for the wicked, I suppose.

Good morning, dearest listeners, and welcome to another day's news courtesy of our drunken squirrel friends! I remain Miss Lydia Bennet, here to share with you all of yesterday's happenings that the squirrels bothered to notice. Let's crack on with it, shall we?

At the school, Driver's Education drove sleighs and Weather and Storms discussed what they'd learned over the semester. I've nothing from the dormitory, sad porg is sad, on to the town, where Mr. Henry of Skalitz was hard at work at the forge, whilst at Needful Things Dr. Quinn made the most of her temporary antlers by decorating them--oh, brilliant idea, I wish I had thought of doing that--and was joined by Dr. Isley for luncheon. Miss Skywalker was hard at work in her warehouse, whilst Mr. Rand stopped by to visit the Perk, and finally, things at The Devil's Nest were appropriately festive, with Mr. Morningstar playing holiday tunes upon the piano. How lovely! Until next week, dear listeners--and do try to provide me with some gossip by then, hmm? Farewell!

We haven't done this since April 2023 and I have one I'm particularly proud of, so show us your journals-in-waiting or -in-maybe! Or even journals that you made and have no plans to play, but the name was too good (don't lie, you've been there). All the journals!

Pop in your potential future journals and show everyone you might play off! Encourage and enable those characters that you see and you want others to app! Have fun!

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had been spared the Fandom weirdness for once, which was good for her because she thought that after months, she'd finally figured out how to deal with the popups on the obstacle course and it was easier to do that without hooves.

And she was trying to ignore the noise as she considered the course, because the woodchucks had not been spared the weirdness and they were fighting with their antlers like actual reindeer so that was gonna be a thing today.

Fandom Radio, Friday, December 19

No, I--you seem to be confused; today is Friday, not--oh, just give me the notes. There's no use arguing with you; I have certainly learned that.

Good morning, everyone, and it is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here with all the squirrelly news of yesterday to report. My request for gossip does not seem to have been indulged, but we shall muddle through regardless, starting with the school, where Food Adventures explored India and its many spices and baking class made biscuits, which you Americans insist upon calling 'cookies.' At the library, Miss Belle had quite a lot of latkes, which seemed to be a common occurrence yesterday, I must say.

I've nothing from the dormitory, but in town Lord Thor advised...someone to pass all of their students at the Devil's Nest, and further abroad the Supper Club visited a Christmas market in Baltimore. You do know you're all welcome to join us any Thursday on one of our little adventures, I do hope! That brings me to the end of my notes, so I shall bid you farewell until--well, probably until tomorrow. We shall see.

The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

There wasn't much of note going on at the Nest today, truly. Lucifer was seated behind the piano, playing some Christmas classics and singing along. Lights had been strung along the ceiling to create an ambiance. And Tiny...

Well, Tiny, and his antlers, and his hooves, was standing by the bar, a red nose firmly affixed to his face that blinked every-so-often, for effect.

Needful Things; Friday

So, Harley had sprouted reindeer antlers on her pretty little head. Majestic ones, to boot! Which, sure, had been kind of a pain in the ass for maneuvering around her apartment with, at first, but she'd made it work! 'Cause, look, she even eventually made it down into her store!

Where she then got to work on stealing some of the store's more Christmas-y wares to see which worked best as antler accessories. Maybe a festive garland, and a couple of nice glittery ornaments...?

Bruce, lounging on an antique couch, watched on with some level of wariness.

The Perk, Friday Afternoon

The clopping at the Perk was kind of distracting, in that fuzzy, familiar way that let Jack know immediately that he was--

Well, not home. But somewhere he'd lived for a very long time.

He didn't have any particular goal in coming here - unless you counted the big sugary coffee that he picked up at the counter - but it felt like... a healthy thing to do? A way to stretch his limbs, after months confined to the same place? He sat down at a seat by the window, mainly just to people watch. See how many people had gotten hit by this particular brand of Fandom whimsy.

He'd probably be heading home again in a couple of hours. But for now, he was here, and his head was strangely, comfortably quiet.

Blackstone Forge and Foundry, Friday

Henry had almost not come into the forge that morning. All the other madness, he'd largely been trying to take in stride, but growing hooves was the sort of thing that made a man wonder if he'd been to church enough in his life.

In the end, he opted for a small detour to said church, which was empty but at least-- churchy.

And now he was back here, attempting to ignore the clomping sound his feet made every time he moved around. He was just... just going to focus on the fire.

(Oh Lord, would he have to make himself horseshoes?)

*chittering*

I don't know why I even asked. just...notes.

Finals week continued up at the School, with Space Pirates, Pirates In Spacebeing attacked by 'enemies', while in the Library Arden had to deal with pryomaniac gremlins and Gray telling her about Raiden's missing meat.

The Dorms were quiet, while in Town, Gray was anti-candle at Over Easy, while Adrian was pro-candle and pro-cookie at Pick Your Posion. Rey and Pam both got cookies, though only one of them also got kisses.

It was a good thing the candles didn't seem to be able to burn anything, because Gray had had...a few close encounters with them already. It did turn out they could drop wax on your face, though, but that peeled off.

Although it did take hair with it.

He and that bit of his left eyebrow didn't want to talk about it.

Also, he couldn't believe Christmas was barely a week away! He so wasn't ready for it to be over! This was stupid Thanksgiving's fault for being so late this year, ugh.

Fandom Radio, Wednesday 12/17

Welcome to another Wednesday. Hopefully nothing is on fire. There are so many candles. So many. And so many squirrel tails in here with so many candles…

Right. Let’s start with the notes from the school. There was a snowball fight for Reclaming Your Childhood. Diplomacy had to deal with a fake and terrible party thrown by Anakin. I would expect a party from Anakin to be terrible. And then we had a meal open to everyone in my Dealing With Other People’s Trauma class. I have leftovers if anyone is hungry. Maybe I should ask Raiden…

And I have nothing from the dorms and the porg is not on fire yet and neither are any squirrels. Somehow.

And now, the notes from the town. Erasmus was judging the flamingos in the park. That seems fair. Arden was also judging them for being bullies. And Henry was taking his horse for a walk and Erasmus met the horse. Who is named Pebbles and did not bite. Kitty looked at the tiny town on Selkie Peak before heading to Caritas and dealing with Tino who was decorating the bull. Oh dear.

That seems to be all. Enjoy the candles. Try not to set anything on fire.

Pick Your Poison, Wednesday

Unlike some beleagured librarians, Adrian was having a lovely day with the candles. He had the lights turns off, letting the candles and the sunlight provide the illumination, there were plenty of plants around to add to the festive feeling, and he'd spent much of the last few days baking, so there were plenty of moddable Christmas cookies around for people to enjoy, as well as merry carols playing quietly in the shop.

Christmas wasn't exactly one of his holidays (Blackwood witches celebrated Yule), but it was close enough and the important thing was that it spread joy and cheer, right?

Spring 2026 Class Sign Ups!

Dear merciful Jesus, how.

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! It's time to sign up for your Spring 2026 Classes! These sign-ups are for EVERYONE: students, teachers, and townies. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. Please read the following before you start signing up:

1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while I put up the OCD!

2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.

The Important Stuff About Signing Up For Classes

1) Since we've removed the cap on characters, we have also removed the cap on the number of classes your characters can sign up for, but please consider your RL ability to keep up before chucking a character at every class we're offering.

2) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap. "Blame the moose" has been working for years!

3) If you sign up, please, please try to show up. It lets the mods judge if you're still in the game and it makes the work the teachers are putting into coming up with something fun to interact with so worth it.

4) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.

5) To be fair to people in all time zones, sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve.

And now we get to what you really want to see: Spring Classes!!!!

FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on Friday, January 2nd, and are IG knowledge at the Welcome Picnic.

General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. Questions or difficulies, please email us - fandomhighadmins (@) iambicnut.com - or drop a question in the Questions thread down below.

What up, Fandom. It's me, ya girl Arden Finch coming at you with a new day's worth of news reports. In School--

*wild and excited squawking*

Whoa whoa whoa! Okay okay! I get it! There's a note about the dorms today! We'll get to it, we'll get to it, I promise. But we have an order, okay? First, School. Flight & Flying had us designing our own starfighter and program it into the Danger Shop. And Cryptozoology asked everybody what their favorite cryptids are.

In Dorms--

*Loud noise-makers and drumming*

--because, yes, we have a Dorms note today. Henry was hanging up posters for a communal meal for Professor James Stark's class on Wednesday.

*Wild crowing*

Very good, porg friend. Anyway, moving on to Town, where chickens reigned supreme. At the Infinite Consortium, Professor Vess fought with a white chicken over who got to sit where. In Pizza Planet, Ray took everything with chicken off the menu and can these chickens stay all the time? That'd be great. And at Pick Your Poison, Dr. Isley was basically a chicken babysitter all day. And at the Clinic, the crab was jealous of the keen capes that the chickens had.

And that's all the notes. So this is ya girl Arden Finch, heading out to find today's weird Christmas magic stuff. But I'll leave you with Yo La Tengo's Eight Candles, in celebration of Hanukkah. Have a great day, Fandom!

Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty was a little late to work due to taking Lexi to Selkie Peak to see the town lit up at night. (And it being dark meant the kid probably wouldn't notice the puppet people and start asking questions.)

When she got into work, she didn't find Tino at first. Not until he came back in with a load of tangled Christmas lights that he was going to stick on the mechanical bull. Kitty felt like this would end in being able to spot the bull from space, but at least it kept him occupied.

The Park, Tuesday Afternoon

Erasmus was freezing. It never got this cold in southern Mississippi. However, here he was, out of doors, hands wrapped around a peppermint mocha--tis the season, after all--having gotten a little distracted by some of Fandom's wildlife.

Specifically, as he sat on this park bench, he was trying to figure out if the flamingos were actually were-flamingos and that was why they were this far north in this insane frigid weather (it was almost forty degrees). "You know you guys can tell me if you are, right?" Maybe they didn't like necromancers. "But if you are maybe you should go somewhere heated? Are feathers warm enough for this weather?"

(Open post is open, and brought to you by a short story in Erasmus's universe casually including a were-flamingo like that's a normal thing to have in your urban fantasy universe or something.)

"Don't eat that," Pam said.

"That's poisonous to birds," Pam said.

"I-- well, I guess it's free manure," Pam said.

She had hoped to spend some time working in the yard, cleaning up the last leaves and checking in to see how her plants were responding to the weather. But she didn't have time. No, instead, she'd become a chicken babysitter for the day.

"And I-- what are you--"

Or a baby let-chickens-sit-on-her, apparently. "Are you going to be on my shoulder all day?" she asked the little thing.

"Buh bah bup," the hen said decisively, and curled up against her neck.
