Yes, Flint went to church. Flint was a regular attendee!

...very well, Flint had not attended church in at least a decade, but he was certain that if Miss Bennet discovered that fact, she would drag him to the nearest congregation by his ear, never minding in the slightest that he was the most feared man in the Caribbean.

He had taken his phone (after plugging it in and charging it. He'd forgotten about it for a month), searched for a correct church to attend, and then sent the address to Miss Bennet. (It had taken three tries. Not that Flint was frustrated about that.)

And now he waited near the back of the church, looking very regretful about this choice. People were looking at him like high boots and leather breeches were not appropriate Easter attire.

Of course Lydia was a regular attendee at church! Every Sunday!...that she had a new hat, that was.

Not that people in this time period appreciated hats like they should. Hmph.

But she shouldn't like Captain Flint to think so poorly of her as to believe she wasn't a faithful attendee, so here she was. Rather hoping she still remembered what to do and giving a little finger wiggle of a wave to Captain Flint when she saw him.

Flint nodded his head at her, not moving too far into the church itself. (He didn't believe that God would actually smite him where he stood, but it was best not to tempt fate.) "Happy Easter," he said.

Lydia didn't put much stock in that kind of nonsense. She was a witch, after all, and Wickham was a demon, and the Lord had let him over the threshold even when he was possessed by a dragon ghost.

"Happy Easter!" she returned. "It has been too long!" Since she'd been to church? Probably yes.

"It has indeed," Flint said with a smile. "Is that a new hat?"

Like he knew hats, but Miranda had schooled him on the basics of social interaction.

"Oh, well," Lydia said, preening a bit, "one must have a new bonnet for Easter." Duh, Flint. "I trust you have been well, sir?" Had he forgotten how his phone worked? She had suspicions.

"I have been well. I received a new shipment of books and was conducting vigorous quality checks."
