What up, Fandom? It's me, ya girl, Arden Finch, bringing you all the best gossip mediocre squirrel journalists have collected. Don't look at me like that, Leroy, you know what you did.

School had its usual Monday complement of classes. Squirrel talked about boundaries and ways to say no, Beginner Gourmet Cooking Techniques made raindrop cakes which were very cool and also surprisingly hard to make, and Tasks gave knowing something like the back of your hand a run for its money.

No Dorms and no surprises there, but in Town, Caleb was dealing with kitty jealousy in Furnado, the Trooper Station was disappointed that Officer McGarrett wasn't doing an easter egg hunt, and Professor James got an Easter basket from the Easter Raccoon at the Clinic.

And that's all we got, so this is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off, but leaving you with Keep It Movin' by Yazz, ft. Serayah

Time seemed to slow on this island.

Lucifer was vaguely aware they'd have to go home soon-- that Octavia was likely to get antsy, and Eric inclined to do mad things to the club while he wasn't there.

But this was nice, wasn't it? Quiet when you wanted quiet. Lively fun and time together when you didn't. He'd even started to warm up to all the nature of it all.

Which was, perhaps, why Lucifer had gone for a stroll all by himself this evening, right on the cusp of sundown. He'd wandered down the beach, and then up into the woods. And now, finally, he was heading home, keeping to the lights of the lodge as his North Star.

It was... peaceful.

Still no Tino, and he wasn't answering his phone. And the zombie drummer was out. They of course were no help, because, you know, zombies. Everything was probably fine, but Kitty was becoming bothered.

And the band just sounded weird with no percussion. It just did.

Steve was in the office as usual on Monday, working hard and ignoring the expectant silence radiating off the Troopers.

"What?" he finally asked, looking over at them and the piles of plastic eggs on their desks. "We're not doing an egg hunt. You're grown-ass adults."

The Trooper Station was open and no fun at all, Steve.

Good morning, everyone. This is Kitty with my first broadcast of April and I need someone to explain to me how that happened. I'm going to blink and it'll be summer vacation and I'm not ready for summer vacation.

Anyway. Gregorith celebrated Easter by hiding candy around the museum, and Rey also had a candy-related day in which her tools became Twizzlers. Normal stuff.

And that's it for me. Till next week!

The new-mama cat and her litter were doing quite well and had been moved to a larger cage, to accommodate the little ones' slowly increasing desire/ability to explore their surroundings.

And if Caleb didn't know better, he'd swear the semi-feral Kitten (whom he'd taken to calling Samantha, and who was becoming less feral by the day) was getting a little jealous of the attention he was giving them. She no longer hissed at him when he approached, allowed him to give her scritches even, but still balked at being handled. And she meowed any time he seemed to be looking in the direction of the youngins.

"You're still my favorite, kid." he assured her. "Us strays gotta stick together, right?"

Yes, Flint went to church. Flint was a regular attendee!

...very well, Flint had not attended church in at least a decade, but he was certain that if Miss Bennet discovered that fact, she would drag him to the nearest congregation by his ear, never minding in the slightest that he was the most feared man in the Caribbean.

He had taken his phone (after plugging it in and charging it. He'd forgotten about it for a month), searched for a correct church to attend, and then sent the address to Miss Bennet. (It had taken three tries. Not that Flint was frustrated about that.)

And now he waited near the back of the church, looking very regretful about this choice. People were looking at him like high boots and leather breeches were not appropriate Easter attire.

No, you must be confused; I did this yesterday. Today is Sunday--Easter Sunday, and I must be getting to church! I've this new bonnet and everything!

*chittering*

Oh, why, yes, thank you, I did think the ribbon was a lovely choice, but what use is it if no one but squirrels sees it? I shall be late, and not even fashionably so...oh, just give me the notes, let's get on with it.

*ahem*

Good morning, everyone, and happy Easter! I'm sure you're wondering what our friends and neighbors were up to yesterday, and I've news to report from the town, where Mr. Raiden had a bit of a 'test run' for Easter brunch at Over Easy, and Mr. Gregorith encountered a raccoon whilst taking out the garbage. And I'm not seeing any further notes, so now I really must be going. Farewell until next time!

All of Rey's tools were Twizzlers today. She didn't know why, and she knew she couldn't fix it, so she didn't care. But everything was Twizzlers, and therefore unusable today. They were too floppy.

She was still trying to get work done by using things like pens in lieu of her tools. It was the principle of the thing.

Gregorith had been given the option by Blathers to take the day off, but Gregorith had most of the week off so he'd opted to come in for at least a few hours in the morning.

He'd spent the first hour hiding candy and small toys (some of which he'd made himself) throughout the museum, and put a sign out front inviting folks to come hunt for them.

The Museum is open for knowledge seekers, or the hunting for munchings, crunchings, or small things to put on your shelves or desks.

though tis the day of the big fambly gathering for the mun so I will likely be afk for a big chunk of the day. Happy Spring Holidays everyone!

Mortal tasks, like, taking out the trash were things that Gregorith was still getting used to. But he had done something similar with some souls, so he was able to get the outside bin open with one hand, while holding his phone with the other.

"Ahmet wants to do what?"

Apparently the Egyptian pantheon had only recently been introduced to mortal slasher movies, and the eater of souls had been struck with the notion of hunting the worst of the damned through the woods.

"I mean sure...I guess uh, we'd need the requisition form for creation of a pocket realm, and the paperwork for-"

He broke off, recoiling. There was something in the bin.

Eyes peered up at him from the darkness, and then tiny hand-like paws reached up to grip the rim and pull itself into view.

It was actually kind of cute, but Gregorith recalled tales of a small rodent with a fluffy tale that liked to turn the tables on mortal hunters. Taileypo he believed it was called.

They stared at each other, neither moving, for what seemed like eternity but was really only a few seconds.

"I'm gonna call you back." he said before hanging up and opening the camera app. He managed one picture before his visitor scampered away.

He fled as well, back into the house before using the photo to look up what the thing had been.

"Oh, that's a raccoon."

Good morning, everyone! It is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here to bring you the news of the day, although it seems to be a light day. Either the squirrels have begun their Easter celebrations early, or everyone was busy with Good Friday observations; who can say?

It seems that all my notes from yesterday are from the school, where Overcoming Obstacles had an Easter egg hunt for the dogs and Cupcakes of the World(s) learned of the cupcakes of Brazil, and then Miss and Dean Skywalker utilized the Danger Shop. And with that, I shall bid you farewell and a happy Easter.

A couple weeks ago, Rey had brought up maybe using the Danger Shop for training, and she had no idea how she'd never thought of it before. If she felt like she might be getting rusty/too used to the usual training methods, why not create a whole new challenge?

After classes had finished, Rey made her way there, scrolling on her phone as she waited for Anakin.

Good morning, everyone! It's Steve Rogers with the news of yesterday.

In classes, Cara traumatized her class with a mutant rabbit movie, Don taught us about Thor in Norse mythology, Liliana taught her class about the mix of blue and black mana, and Belle was starting to clean the library after the April Fool's Day shenanigans of the day before.

In town, Thor made the drinks at the Devil's Nest goat themed, and Vi was a very welcome interruption of Steph's clean-up of the unauthorized gremlin party in the Magpie Emporium.

And that's everything! Enjoy your weekend, everyone.

I was teaching honestly from the recorded myth!

"Mm-hmm," Thor agreed as he organized the glasses behind the bar. "You will apologize to the goats."

I didn't say anything bad about Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher, Don lied through his teeth. I love Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher. He didn't bother pointing out that the goats weren't alive to need his apologies at the moment. Maybe by the time they were alive again Thor would have forgotten.

The gremlins had thrown an April Fool's party in here last night after closing, or at least that was how Steph chose to interpret the abundance of very tiny confetti (tiny for confetti at least but still too big to qualify as glitter, in her totally expert opinion) and streamers all over the store.

Plus the spring snakes that kept popping out of the shelves whenever she pulled a book out to relocate it. And the very small whoopee cushion on her office chair.

At least they were classic goofy pranks and not shitty mean ones?

Little Bot trundled by with yet another dustpan full of confetti as Steph picked up another snake and deposited it with all the others in a big utility tote bin. That had a lid that latched shut. Around here, she figured, assuming those snakes wouldn't just turn real was probably a bad idea.

Leroy, even you're not stupid enough to think you can get away with a second day of pranks are you?

*innocent chittering*

Thought so.

Up at the School, Creative Writing had another movie day, or rather the same movie day, while Glitter made glitter bath bombs, and this was apparently not a prank. Unfortunately for Arden in the Library the gremlins had more than made up for any lack of pranks elsewhere, though Cal was very sympathetic when he showed up with drinks.

The Dorms seemed to avoided any foolishness, while in Town, Stark showed up for a make-up shift at the Clinic to much suspicion, while at Pick Your Poison, Adrian wasn't nearly suspicious enough, at least until Rey came by to explain the odd phone calls.

The phone was ringing off the hook today, but the conversations were more and more confusing.

"Is my refrigerator running?" he repeated. "What fridge? Do you mean the one in my Grove or the one here in the shop? Hello?"

"Do I have Prince Albert in a can? What's that? Is that some kind of body wash? Hello? Hello?"

"You're looking for...you said his first name was Ollie? Last name Tabooger? Excuse me, is there a Mr. Tabooger in the store? Mr. Tabooger? No, I don't think that there's anyone here by this name. Have you tried--hello?"

This is what happens when you were raised in a forest with a coven that pretty universally hated April Fools. You spent the whole day bewildered.

No, I didn’t find any of it funny. Not even a little. You’re terrible.

*tiny squirrel snickers*

All of you.

*trilling*

Not you.

Right. It’s Wednesday, the squirrels are being absolutely ridiculous today and the first set of notes didn’t even make sense. Neither did the second. I think I have the real notes from yesterday now. I hope.

At the school we had Feeding Yourself 101 making food from…whatever was in the fridge. That seems fair. Though I hope they had a better selection than I do sometimes. And then in Ethics there was talk of artificial intelligence and robots.

And, oh, I have something from the dorms?
*excited trilling*
*snickering*
*sad Porg noises*
Leroy, that was mean.

I do have a couple of things from the town. Sairis was in Liliana’s shop with the door open. I hope the chair didn’t escape and eat anyone. It didn’t eat Leroy. Unfortunately.

*offended chittering*

You started it. Hush.

Right. And Kitty was at Caritas without Tino again. The squirrels have come up with a very long list of explanations where he might have gone. I don’t think any of them could be true. Well. Maybe. It’s hard to say.

*chittering*

No, I do not believe he’s a hero in his homeland and had to go save the world. No one would believe that.

It’s best to be suspicious today, I think.
